Domino's Pizza in Widnes is closed due to an electrical problem which started a small fire and destroyed the electricity supply into the building. Nobody was hurt and thanks to the prompt action of staff damage was minimal. We are hoping to have service restored and the store open as usual by Thursday 18th Sept.

We would like to apologise to our customers for any invconvenience.

Domino's Pizza hosts Olympic Celebration in Widnes

SUNDAY 31 August saw Domino's Pizza join forces with hundreds of Special Olympics (SOGB) athletes from across the country to host a knock-out party, with guest appearance from Widnes Vikings' star Scott Yates.

The event at Parklands Social Club, Widnes, was a huge success and raised over £1,000 for Domino's charity of choice, SOGB.
Fifteen teams of athletes and guests battled it out in an "It's a Knockout" inflatable obstacle course, with SOGB clubs from Merseyside and North & West Cheshire stealing the title of joint champions.

As well as competing in the competition, team members from Domino's Widnes and Warrington stores were on-hand to provide free activities for everyone to "Come & Try" including Sumo Wrestling, Badminton and Basketball. Fresh, piping hot pizza was also available at £1 a slice, with all proceeds going to SOGB, helping raise nearly £250 for the charity.

Local Domino's store owner Peter Thompson says, "This great event was the perfect opportunity for us to help Special Olympics athletes and their families enjoy a fun day out.

We'd especially like to thank Widnes Vikings fullback Scott Yates for taking time out to come along and support the athletes, as it was such an unexpected surprise for a number of the club's fans. We'd also like to thank Parklands Social Club owner Reg Bowden for the use of the venue free of charge, and everyone who came along to help make it such an amazing day.

SOGB regional chairman Andy Shard said, "Without the backing of Domino's Pizza this event would not have been possible, and so we are extremely grateful to them for their kind generosity. All the teams that took part in the competition put in 100% and greatly enjoyed taking part in all the inflatable activities, especially the giant pizza game! It was also a unique opportunity to celebrate 30 years of Special Olympics."

SOGB offers people with learning disabilities opportunities to gain confidence grow in stature and develop self-esteem through year-round sports training and competition. The SOGB sports programme seeks to promote the abilities of a person with a learning disability, rather than their disability, by giving them the chance to participate to their fullest potential.

The Worlds fastest Pizza Delivery took place at half time during the eagerly awaited Widnes Vikings ‘v’ Salford City Reds match at the Stobart Stadium this Thursday in front of a new National Rugby League record crowd.

Domino’s Pizza Widnes teamed up with the Red Devils and the Widnes Vikings to deliver a pizza into the stadium via parachute as part of a feast of entertainment laid on for the match.

The Red Devil’s team members who are widely regarded as amongst the best display parachutists in the world dropped in at half time dressed in Domino’s Pizza uniform and trailing a 100 square foot Domino's Flag.The highly-skilled skydivers fell at speeds of up to 120mph, before deploying their parachutes and landing in the Stadium to deliver a delicious, piping hot Domino’s Pizza to lucky fan Kathy Filkins.

It certainly seemed to give the Vikings a boost, they had been trailing 4-16 at half time but went on to win 20-18 in a thrilling second half display.
